We are looking for a new pig mom to take over this blog for 09-10.
The Taj Mahal

Can you believe it? Here I am at the Taj Mahal in Agra, India. Me a little traveling pig from the middle of the country. How great is this? For those of you who do not know the Taj Mahal is a mausoleum. It was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It was built from 1632 to 1653. And it’s not just this building either.

This is the mosque
Here is the Gateway to the Taj Mahal
And here is the walkway. Awesome huh?

While we were in India we also shopped for some rugs. Wow they were beautiful.
Look at the cool cars that ran around everywhere. I want one, do you think it comes in pink?
In some parts of town we saw the animals just roamed free right in the town.
here is one of the rooms we stayed in.

Aloha
I decided to escape the bad winter we were having by catching a ride with the M. family to Hawaii. What an adventure. Come along and see what I got to do. First we visited the USS Missouri at Pearl Harbor. You can learn about the Missouri by clicking here.

In the distance you can see the USS Arizona Memorial. You can read about the USS Arizona here.
Here I am in the Diamond Head State Monument.
It was formed from volcanos and you can read more about it here.
We also checked out some local culture
Ok No one anger the tiki please…
Just walk away slowly.
Whew – that was a close one. Now for some Kayaking…
I wonder if there is a pig sized paddle.
Well at least this coconut was pig sized. Fresh Coconut. Yum!
This is love rock . See what shape it is?
I tried to take some hula lessons, but I think you have to be taller than the props…

A little hiking was in order to check out the local flora and fauna.
It was a great trip and I hope I get to go back someday.
Love and Kisses TP

Spring Break In Wisconsin Dells
Dear 4th Grade:

The trip to the Dells was awesome! K and I got 3rd place in Lazer Tag. I played Apples to Apples with her Aunt, Uncle, cousins, brothers, parents, and her.
We ate breakfast at Denny’s. I couldn’t go to the pool, but it must have been a lot of fun.
I almost got eaten by a wolf.
I made friends with Monte Moose.
I saw some panther kittens, but the mom chased me away.
I got to unlock the door to our room. So I tried and then K had to help me.
How do they do it so fast? When Kendra’s family left the hotel we went to Wizard’s Quest.
Apparently I don’t count as a person.
We ate at Culver’s for lunch. I wanted a drink and really wanted some of K’s ice cream.
Then we went home.
Your Pig,
T.P.

Animal Kingdom
Is there a more perfect place for a Traveling Pig to visit than Animal Kingdom?I had a great time over Spring Break with the K family.
I visited a dinosaur in Animal Kingdom in Disney World.
The flamingoes are such pretty birds. Their feathers are pink because they eat shrimp.
I visited the jungle in Animal Kingdom
This is the Tree of Live in Animal Kingdom
Meet mynew friend, a hippo in the hotel lobby. I tried to convince him to come back with me but he’s afraid of traveling. Good thing I’m not.
This animal was on the safari. “Look out for his horns!”
Here’s a gorilla on the African Safari.
These ostrich eggs sit in the sunshine and do not need the mother bird to sit on them to keep them warm for hatching.
I rode on the Dinorama roller coaster.
“Eeeek”
Cool dinosaur sculpture.
Here’s an elephant on the African Safari
Thanks for a great trip. Pixie dust and happiness to all. TP

Dyersville, Iowa
Spring Break Spring Break!!! So many places to go and so many things to do. While I was off on Spring Break, my cousins, the Traveling Polar Bears, went to Dyersville, Iowa with the N. family. They had such a wonderful time, here is the report they sent to me and you.
Dear TP and 4th grade families,
Than you so much for letting us travel with the N. family to Dyersville, Iowa. We had such a great time. We helped with the cooking by cutting these carrots for soup.
Look at the cool tent we made outside…
We are in front of the Teepee at the aquarium.
We got to see an otter.
We hung out in a locker (Hmm not so different from school)
On the back of one of the beds.

We got to see an alligator – we were so scared!
We got to see a toad, isn’t he fat?
Here is a skunk pelt – sad for the skunk…
We are in front of a mink and still sad.
L. made a penny pyramid. Neat huh?
This is the tree house on Old Castle Road in the Woods.
They wouldn’t let us slide down the pole. Bet we could have made it though…

At the aquarium we got to be an egyptian person and a snake.
And then sadly our adventure came to an end. Thanks TP and friends for including us in your adventures. We had a great time. All our love, the Traveling Polar Bears!!

Cedar Rapids Hockey Game
Hello again everyone. I had such a great time when I went to Cedar Rapids with the K family and went to the hockey game.
We had great seats.
Of course my favorite part was the Zamboni. I’m thinking maybe I could be a Zamboni driver when I grow up? Do you think I will be able to reach the pedals? Maybe not.
Anyway the year is getting close to wrapping up. I hope I can squeeze in a few more adventures before its over. I am, as always, Your traveling pig

Skiing in Wisconsin
Ok if the weather is going to be cold I think I should at least learn how to enjoy it. So I caught a ride with the M. family as they headed up north to go skiing and enjoy some winter fun.
First I needed a wardrobe change. How do you like my hat?
Next I needed a lift ticket. I hope someone is around to give me a boost onto the lift when its time.
No one told me skiing was such hard work. I am very thirsty. See me drinking nice healthy milk? I know someone decided to play a trick and put my nice healthy milk in this soda can, but trust me its not soda (burp) OOps anyway moving along…
After skiing we did a little Christmas celebrating. HMMMM I think Santa forgot how to spell T.P. C’mon Santa – its just like it sounds Teee Peee.
Maybe he will get it right next year. Oh well. I liked Wisconsin in the winter, but I am hoping to make it back when it gets war\m so I can take this baby out for a spin.
Stay safe and Be Warm!
Your friend, TP
